Well, first of all, my name is Jack Brockley. I live in Stoke-on-Trent in the North West of England.I
currently attend a high school that is a ten minute walk from my house.
I'm in Year 11 and I'm doing my GCSEs. I'm doing a range of subjects,
with my favourite three being ICT, Maths and Business Studies.
As you will (or should) know, I'm an independent games developer. I
mainly use the program, GameMaker, to create my games. I first came to
know the program when I found a tiny article about it in a gaming
magazine in February 2006. So, I have now known the program for just
over three years, but I've only really done anything productive in the
last year, so I'm relatively new to the independent gaming scene.
Before making games, I used to express my creativity through other
mediums, with the main one being drawing. I was never really a good
artist, but I liked doodling a lot and I actually created a maze
adventure game on squared A4 paper, where the objective of the game was
to collect all the gems before dying. Fun times.
My favourite casual game genre is platform games, probably because of
their
familiarity and straightforwardness. But on consoles, I'm a racing game
fanatic (I currently own: NFS Most Wanted, NFS Carbon, NFS Pro Street,
NFS Undercover, Gran Turismo, Gran Turismo 2, Gran Turismo 3, Gran
Turismo 4, Burnout 2, Burnout 3, Burnout Revenge, Burnout Dominator,
Colin McRae Rally, Colin McRae 3, Colin McRae 04, F1 2000, F1 2002, F1
2005... and more). I guess I like the realism and looking at cars in
all their mighty and the fact that you don't have to be eighteen to
legally buy them... I also love Pokemon (don't tell me I'm too old) and
have done ever since my grandma bought me Pokemon Red a long time ago.
I currently own a PS3, if you're interested.
As well as games, I'm a great lover of sitting on my arse in front of
the good old TV. There are many programs that I like to watch and these include:
The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, Top Gear, The Apprentice, Dragons' Den, Mock the Week,
Have I Got News For You, The Gadget Show, My Family, After You've Gone,
Doctor Who, Click, Harry Hill's TV Burp, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night
Takeaway, Hustle, The Real Hustle, Poker Face, F1, Snooker, Football,
Tennis, Darts... The list goes on.
So yeah, that's me.
